Another DA for Controversial Graceville Site

A development application A003008422 has been submitted for this controversial site at 169 Long Street East, where a construction ban was earlier placed by Council following previous resident complaints.

 

It would appear this new application seeks to extend the original guarantees at this site to include an increase of 1.5 metres in the fascade, and includes semi-enclosed awnings to street described in relevant documents:

After the recent devastating floods in our suburbs I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to the many volunteers who helped with the clean up.
 
I hope the many of you who have been affected are starting to get your lives back together I know for some it will be a long an difficult process.
 
The Flood Recovery Centres at Jamboree Heights State School and St. Aidan's will close on Friday 11 February.

The Tennyson Ward Office will be operating from a temporary office from Tuesday, 8 February 2011. Whilst our office location has temporarily changed, we are still available on the same phone number and email address.

St. Davids drop-in centre

A drop in centre is now operating from St David’s Church in Chelmer. St David’s also has a collection of smaller donated items such as clothing, toys, baby goods, linen and crockery. They would love you to drop in and take whatever your family could use.

Drop in for tea, coffee, morning tea, a chat or a break. Frozen meals available to take away.

Community Flood Forum

Legal Aid Queensland, the Insurance Council of Australia and the Financial Ombudsman Service will be holding a Community Flood Forum. This is an opportunity for those who have been affected by the floods to come and seek free legal advice about issues including insurance claims and other legal issues that may have arisen as a result of the flood.
