Water Tanks in Floods

We want to let our customers, friends and families know that Water Tanks that were damaged or submerged during the floods may be contaminated and unsafe.

Naturally we do not want to overly concern people during these challenging times. We also feel it is important that people are made aware of what may not necessarily be an obvious health risk.

Contaminated, but undamaged Water Tanks should not need to be replaced. They do however need to be correctly cleaned, including the removal of any silt or flood debris.

BlueScope Steel, the manufacturers of AQUAPLATE® have stated that "chlorine represents a significant risk in terms of damaging the AQUAPLATE® film on Metal Tanks".

Correct levels of chlorine can be used for sanitary purposes on Poly Tanks.

If you know anyone who needs advice or assistance with the above please ask them to call me on 1300 888 015. If we can't help, we'll do our absolute best to find someone who can.
