Together with a number of other groups we have been trying to obsorb the proposed changes to the Brisbane City Council City Plan. The plan changes many things and can only be viewed online at the Brisbane City Council's website. The document is also quite complex in trying to understand the interaction between the various rules and "overlays".
In one example we understand the intent of the plan is to allow the Sherwood-Graceville Neighbourhood Plan to take precedence, however there are areas in our neighbourhood plan which rely on the city plan and hence understanding the new City Plan is important to ensure the intent of the Sherwood-Graceville Neighbourhood Plan is not lost. Now is the time to be providing feedback to council on the new city plan.
In order to assist residents in understanding the new plan, Brisbane City Council is running a few Talk to a Town Planner sessions:
Additionally Brisbane City Council are running Information Kiosks at:
Councillor Nicole Johnston is also running Resident Ward Briefings specific to the Tennyson Ward at:
- Yeronga on Thu. 18th April
- Annerley on Tue. 23rd April
- Sherwood on Thu. 2nd May
- Chelmer on Sat. 4th May
We are hoping that because the city plan document is so complex, residents who find out something about the plan, positive or negative can contribute to a discussion on our website. We have therefore started a few topics where posts can be made. If you want another topic started, please just request it by emailing the webmaster.
To start with we have opened the following topics for discussion:
