FLOOD RECOVERY CENTRES

Community Recovery Centres have been established at the following locations and operates from 8.30am to 5.00 pm (7 days a week) until further notice.
 
Jamboree Heights State School Hall
Beanland Street
JAMBOREE HEIGHTS
 
St Aidans Anglican Girls School
Ruthven Street
CORINDA
 
What to bring with you:-
drivers licence or ID card
Medicare card showing members of your family and
a document or utilities bill showing your address.
OR arrangements will be made to help you obtain identification at the recovery centre.
 
Personal Hardship Assistance grants to cover the costs of essential items such as food, clothing and accommodation will be provided to people who experience genuine hardship. For information call 1800 173 349.
 
Just provide support staff with details of your situation and they will assess your eligibility for the various grants and connect you with the help you need.
 

BEWARE OF SCAMS

After natural disasters salespeople will promote home or property maintenance services. While many are legitimate, some may be scammers.
 
Ask the trader for proof of identity such as a company identification card or a driver licence. Take down details for your reference and also note their vehicle's number plate.
Do not agree to offers or deals straight away - you are entitled to a cooling-off period of ten days.
Carefully read all the terms and conditions of any offer.

Bogus Electrician

Word on the street is there is a bogus electrician offering to check power boxes for $200 cash. Avoid all tradies asking for cash payments.
