South-West Corridor Transport Study through our suburbs

Submitted by webmaster on Tue, 04/12/2012 - 9:57pm

The following information has been released under an RTI to council examining council plans for overall transport through and within the Sherwood-Graceville Neighbourhood Plan area.

Unfortunately it seems that council have gone to extremes in "protecting the interests of BCC" and censored important pieces of information with regards to this project.  It is debatable if this information has some commercial value that BCC needs to protect, but please judge for yourself.

City Plan Changes are coming

Submitted by Nicole Johnston on Fri, 30/11/2012 - 11:42pm

This week Council is debating the proposed new City Plan, the document that governs planning and development in our city.
Despite the importance of the City Plan, the Lord Mayor has not publicly released the Plan for residents. He says he will do this after it’s approved by Council and consultation will be undertaken next year. He has not said when, but has said the community will have 60 days to provide feedback. I will let you know when this commences.

Skew Street Sherwood - another 5 storey proposal

Submitted by webmaster on Mon, 18/06/2012 - 9:20pm

Another development application has been submitted for 4-8 Skew Street Sherwood for 5 storeys similar to a similarly rejected application for a different address in Skew Street.

The 2 x pre-war houses are also proposed for demolition.

Skew Street is not zoned for 5 storey development in the Sherwood-Graceville Neighbourhood plan, hence this is an Impact Assessible application where residents get to have a say.

Impact Assessible 9 Units DA Hood Street Sherwood

Submitted by webmaster on Tue, 01/05/2012 - 10:14pm

An impact assessible development application has been raised in Hood Street, Sherwood.

It would appear that adjustments were requested from council for both parking provided and landscaping issues. Rear setback is shorter than the code and gross floor area exceeds Sherwood-Graceville Neighbourhood plan by 20%

Visit council's website and search for application number A003281355.  Public submissions need to be made before 18-May.

What are your plans to address such cross-government issues as the Jerrold Street underpass, the Chelmer TAFE sale, Alan Fletcher Research Station sale, the proposed ambulance station, public housing such as that near Quarry Road, future use of Oxley Creek Common and surrounding areas, the Sherwood railway bridge and the Corinda Railway bridge?
